The hospital staff for weeks had tried so hard to save a life but at the end of it all they offered condolences and explained the next steps with bills presented to the Childs family. Unfortunately, it seemed the boy’s family would not be unable to bury their son due to outstanding hospital fees. IO initiative, a subsidiary of IO foundation have been a part of the journey from the tail end was able to raise funds to cover the Hospital and Mortuary fees so that the burden would be lifted from their shoulders and they, the family, could focus on what mattered most, honoring the memory of their beloved son and putting him to rest.
No parent should ever have to bury a child, but unfortunately these things happen. Losing a child is not easy and not being able to lay a body to rest is even harder. Although this is a very sad and difficult end to this situation, IO Initiative was able to support the family and take the weight off the family’s shoulders allowing them to grieve, say goodbye and bury their beloved child with dignity and love.
We hope the family finds solace and beacons of light as they navigate through this trying time.
